For kitchens preparing to open
Used Cooking Oil Collection Before Opening Day.
Restaurant openings have enough moving parts. Give used cooking oil a place in the setup plan before the fryers start: a confirmed service address, a workable container location, an access route and a person who owns the handoff.

Start with the fryer plan
List the fryers and other equipment expected to produce used cooking oil. Estimate operating days and when oil will be changed under your kitchen’s own food-quality procedure. This first estimate helps the collection team discuss storage and pickup frequency; it is not a promise that every week will produce the same amount.
If the menu, equipment or hours are still changing, say so. A restaurant that adds a second fryer or extends hours after opening may need more usable container space or a different collection cadence. Record the initial assumptions and revisit them after the first pump-outs.
Walk both routes to the container
Follow the path your staff will use from the fryer to the storage point, then the path a collection crew will use from its vehicle. Check doors, stairs, gates, loading times and any shared property rules. A storage point is useful only when both routes work safely and the property allows it.
Discuss container size and placement with the team before ordering or treating a spot as final. A drum, wheeled indoor container or outdoor tank may fit different kitchens; the right option depends on expected output, usable space, access and availability. Name an on-site contact and a backup who can answer access questions.
Confirm the service arrangement
Share the exact street address, planned opening date, fryer count, approximate oil output, proposed collection point and access instructions. Green Nature serves all New Jersey counties, all five NYC boroughs, Long Island and selected Hudson Valley and Pennsylvania markets; the team reviews the exact address before confirming coverage.
Ask for written terms covering equipment, collection frequency, measurement, statements and any qualifying rebate. Green Nature provides a statement after every pump-out; monthly rebate payments apply to qualifying accounts under the written agreement. An early opening date helps planning, but equipment placement and pickup timing still require confirmation.
Give staff a clear opening-week procedure
Before regular fryer use begins, show shift leads where cooled oil belongs, who transfers it under the kitchen’s procedure, and who calls if the container is nearly full. Keep water, food scraps and grease trap waste separate. Used fryer oil does not go down a drain.
If construction or permit timing changes, update the collection team. After the first service, check the pump-out statement for the correct address, date and recorded amount. Compare the next few visits with your initial estimate and ask for a review if the container is becoming too full between collections.
Opening questions
When should I contact a collection provider?
Start while planning the kitchen, once you have the address, a proposed storage point and a fryer estimate. Confirm actual equipment and service timing as the opening date becomes firm.
Can the container be selected before the property approves its location?
The available formats can inform planning, but final placement and access need review with the property and collection team.
Does giving an opening date reserve the first pickup?
No. Treat the date as a planning input and confirm the actual service arrangement with the team.
